Emergency crews worked an accident and vehicle fire on Interstate 10 near Rose City just before 7 p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses who called into the 12News HD news room said it started with a vehicle fire on the westbound side, and an accident happened on the eastbound side due to a driver watching the fire. Officials have not confirmed this information.
Witnesses on the scene told a 12News photographer that a Corvette was going too fast in the westbound lanes, lost control and hit a safety barrier. The car burst into flames. A male driver and a passenger from the Corvette were pulled from the burning car.
A DPS spokesperson was not available Saturday evening.
12News HD will have more information on this story as soon as it is released by officials.
