Federal agents are compiling evidence that took them more than seven hours to seize from a Beaumont doctor's office.
Dr. John Webb's clinic was raided this morning by several federal agencies.
The Medicaid Fraud Unit of Health and Human Services, the Attorney General's Office, the Office of Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Beaumont Police Department.
The Beaumont medical clinic is in the 5200 block of Eastex FWY.
At 8:30 Thursday morning, federal agents scattered the parking lot of the clinic.
Dr. Webb's staff stayed inside while those who work nearby watched from across the parking lot.
Federal agents swarming the Beaumont Medical Clinic was something one of those who work nearby, Barbara Ogden, never expected.
"I came to work today, everything was normal, and all the sudden I see FBI and DEA enforcement," says Ogden. "Yeah, it was just really bizarre."
For more than seven hours, federal agents were in and out of the clinic doors at Dr. Webb's office carrying boxes of property from the building.
What they were after, agents wouldn't say. The U.S. Attorney's Office is leading the federal investigation. It would only reveal that agents will be going through the seized property to try to find what they're after.
Dr. Webb and his staff wouldn't answer phone calls and quickly drove away when 12 News HD approached to ask questions.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says it could take months before investigators have finished going through all the property seized.
