PHILADELPHIA - February 8, 2012 (WPVI) -- Two 15-year-olds accused of beating a Vietnam veteran on a Philadelphia sidewalk pleaded guilty Wednesday morning.

The teens were charged with Attempted Murder, Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Terroristic Threats, and Conspiracy. They pleaded guilty to all charges except the Attempted Murder charge. A judge immediately sentenced the pair to four years in a juvenile detention center.

The pair was charged with attacking 64-year-old Edward Schaefer on North 5th Street in Olney last month. Investigators believe robbery was the motive.

Schaefer, who was recently released from the hospital, suffered a broken jaw and fractured eye sockets during the unprovoked beating.

Schaefer served in Vietnam until losing his eye in combat and had recently retired from a job working with fellow veterans.
