Marijuana farm indictment

Posted: Updated:

Roberto Bahena-Garcia of Pasadena TX has been indicted for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crime.

Bahena-Garcia was indicted on January 25, 2011.  Garcia was arrested on February 1, 2012 and was arraigned the next day.

Last October law enforcement received a tip that a large outdoor and indoor marijuana growing operation was underway in rural Hull, Texas in Liberty County.

The investigation revealed more than 1,000 mature plants on over 200 acres on Private Road 255.

The indoor facility was outfitted with grow lights and heating/cooling units to facilitate growing. A 12 gauge shotgun was also found on the premises.

If Garcia is convicted, he faces up to life in federal prison and forfeiture of the property which he purchased on July 8, 2010.
