A 34-year-old Groves man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison running a meth lab out of his residence while under parole.
Officers executed an arrest warrant on December of 2010 and upon entering the house of Billy Ray Brown in Groves took him into custody. Officers noticed white powder in the home. Further investigation of the premises turned up a loaded rifle and a meth lab.
Brown admitted to producing and selling meth for about 8-10 years. Brown was already a convicted felon, for possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a firearm in Jefferson County back in 1999.
Brown plead guilty to the charges in July 2010.
