Worker receives shock removing meter

A man working for Entergy is recovering after he was hurt working on a power meter around 5 p.m. Saturday.

The man was taken to UTMB in Galveston by medical helicopter after suffering burns to his arms and hands as he tried remove a meter at an apartment complex on the 600 block of Archie Street in Vidor.

Ambulance crews would not say the severity of the man's injuries.

Other emergency workers said the man, in his 30's, was alert and talking after the accident.

No other injuries were reported.
