Two men were shot and killed at a home in Kosse. The apparent shooter says he was acting in self-defense after the two men broke into his home, and the Limestone County Sheriff says this all centers around a bitter divorce.
Limestone County Sheriff got a call at 4 p.m. Thursday from a man who said two men were breaking into his home. Then within minutes, he allegedly shot them, all while on the phone.
"We can hear him, we can hear the background, and we can hear the gunshots," said Limestone County Sheriff Dennis Wilson.
The sheriff says this all centers around a divorce between Pam and David Hillman, and Pam's close friend Tracy Nicholas. For the past three months Nicholas has lived with Pam at her house off County Road 706. In past weeks, incidents between Pam and her husband David had escalated.
"This is a very contested divorce, there is a lot of animosity between the male and the female," said Wilson.
She was not home when friends of her husband Mark Tays of Rosebud and Roger West of San Marcus came on her property. Nicholas allegedly used a pistol to shoot one of them inside the home and another on the front lawn. Neighbors say the circumstances are tragic.
"It's definitely a sad thing when wives and husbands can't get along," said neighbor Amanda Watts.
The district attorney was on the scene Thursday as evidence was collected. The sheriff says he will reserve any judgement on this case until the facts come together. No charges have been filed yet.
