Pirates rush for over 500 yards in win over Jags

The Vidor Pirates opened up District  22-5A play with a 48-27 pounding of the Central Jaguars at the Thomas Center on Saturday.

The Pirates rushed for over 500 yards, led by Kolbie Humble and Haylon Leckelt witth over 300 yards between them and five touchdowns.

Coach Jeff Mathews says the team celebrated for about 12 hours on Sunday, before turning their attention to Ozen in their next district game coming up Friday.

Mathews says after an embarrassing opening week loss to Barbers Hill, the team pulled together.
