SILSBEE - Wednesday evening the Silsbee Tigers held a ring ceremony for the first time in school history. The ceremony was to hand out rings commemorating Silsbee boys basketball team's 2017 championship, in which they beat Brazosport, 69-58.
This ring comes as breath of fresh air for the tigers after they lost the 2016 championship to Lincoln. Coach Joe Sigler says he dosen't want this to be the last ring the Silsbee boys get to wear.
“I hope so,” said Sigler. “I’m challenging them like that. We don’t want to get lazy because of the fact that we have these rings now. We are going to enjoy them right now. But in about 60 to 90 days all of this is yesterday and the hard work starts again.”
Congratulations Tigers! Wear those rings proudly.
