Sam Houston State advances to Super Regional for first time in school history

Sam Houston State moves on to the Super Regional

LUBBOCK - After not advancing past the Regional round the first ten times the team made it, the Sam Houston St. Bearkats finally broke the streak.

The team beat the nationally seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders. Tech was trying to make it back the College Wold Series for the second year in a row.

The Bearkats would Go down 3 to 1 in the 5th inning after some timely 2 out hitting by the Red Raiders. They would battle back though and score a run in the bottom of the 5th, as well as 2 in the 6th to take a 4-3 lead. It would stay that way the rest of the game.

The Bearkats are the only team from the Southland Conference remaining. They will take on Florida State in the next round.
