PN-G takes 5A state title in baseball

ROUND ROCK - The Port Neches-Groves baseball team wins the state championship Saturday against Grapevine.

The losing team had previously been the Class 5A title holder.

The Indians taking the win with a final score of 4-2.

This marks PN-G's fourth trip to state. The last time they took the mound to compete for the title was in 2004.

The win is the first-ever state title for the Indians in baseball. Their previous best was taking 2nd during 4A playoffs in 2000.
