PNG goes a leg up in the 5A Regional Final against Brenham

Cubs rally to tie the game, only to have PNG's Hayden Guerra knock in go ahead run

HUNTSVILLE: - After dropping game one of their previous two best of three playoff series, the PNG Indians are now in the drivers seat after defeating Brenham 5-3 on Thursday night at Don Sanders Stadium at Sam Houston St.

Hadyen Guerra knocked in Cameron Stansbury with the go ahead run to break a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning

Indians got on the board first in the 3rd with Austin Bost knocking in Guerra to make it 1-0.  Nathan Vidrine then added a big two run single to make it 3-0

Brenham was able tie things up in the fourth, as Zach Marshall and Davion Lockett had the key hits in a three run rally.

Brandon Morse got the win on the mound as he went the distance for the Indians.

PNG, leading the best of three series 1-0,  can now secure their first trip to state since 2004 on Friday night in Huntsville with a win in game two at 6 pm.   If necessary, game three would follow.
