The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks attended their first day of class on Tuesday and then it was off to China Elementary for an afternoon practice to get ready for their first game after the storm.
The Hawks have been helping out in the community, taking in evacuated teammates, after the wrath of Harvey struck Sour Lake.
HJ saw their stadium and locker room flooded out, losing all of their equipment. Teams from around the state including the Hill Country and College Station have sent equipment to help.
Now the Hawks are set for their first game Friday in Beaumont against Kelly. They still are on schedule to host Jasper on October 6.
