The UIL announced their realignment numbers Monday for the upcoming 2014-15 and 2015-16 athletic seasons. A new 6A is being added, while the 6-man football schools jump up to 1A. Memorial and West Brook will be in a 6A district.
PNG, Nederland, Lumberton, Vidor, Ozen and Central will be bumped up to 5a and the rumors are that Barbers Hill and Dayton could fill out that district.
LCM stays in 4a with a new Division I featuring schools like Silsbee, Bridge City and Jasper who made the cutoff on the number.
HJ, WO Stark, Orangefield and Ham-Fannett will be in 4a Division II.
Buna, Kirbyville, EC, Warren, Woodville, Kountze and Anahuac will be in 3a Division I
Newton and Deweyville will be in 3a Division II
Evadale and Burkeville will be in 2a Division II
These breakdowns affect football with the UIL to announce actual district realignment on February 3, 2014. The other sports basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball could have their own districts that are closer to home.
