Crosby knocks Vidor out of the 5A playoffs 33-24

Cougars advance over Pirates

BAYTOWN - The Crosby Cougars scored on a back breaking play just before halftime on their way to a 33-24 victory over the Vidor Pirates in the opening round of the 5A Division II playoffs at Stallworth Stadium Thursday night.

Crosby QB Mannie Netherly, an LSU commit, sprinted 45 yards on a fourth and two play to give the Cougars a 27-15 halftime lead.

Maverick Quirante scored a couple of TD's in the first half.   Pirates end their season as co-champs of 22-5A with an 8-3 record.
