Vinton residents arrested on drug charges

A spokesperson for the Louisiana State Police says the combined effort of police, troopers and deputies has led to drug arrests in Vinton.

Agents with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Vinton Police Department Tuesday arrested Terrence Budwine, 32, of Vinton, for distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine.)  He was arrested at his home in Vinton.

Budwine was also wanted for violation of his probation.

Budwine was in possession of a small quantity of Xanax at the time of his arrest. 

Budwine was also charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (Xanax) and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone (near a school).

Agents arrested Lacy Courmier, 20, of Vinton, while at the home of Budwine.  Courmier is charged with possession of a Schedule IV substance (Xanax) and resisting an officer.

Budwine and Courmier were booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Total bond on Budwine was set at $625,000. Bond on Courmier was set at $55,000.
