A Vidor man is in jail after he led police on a chase late Monday night.
Beaumont police tried to make a traffic stop near MLK and Interstate 10 and the driver sped up rather than pull over. Officer Jeff Curl tells 12NewsNow.Com police chased the black Honda sedan as the driver pulled onto Interstate 10 eastbound all the way to Vidor. The driver pulled off at Church Street and was arrested when he stopped the car.
Police identify the man as Troy Dale Reid, 34, of Vidor. Officers say he ran from police because he had an outstanding drug warrant.
Officer Curl says Reid threw some type of object out of his car while police were chasing him, but that object has not been recovered.
Reid remains in Jail on a $5,000 bond on the drug warrant. A bond for an additional charge of felony evading arrest has not yet been set.
