Two in custody, charged in Mike's Drive In robbery

A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson Tuesday said two men are in custody, charged in the  armed robbery of Mike's Drive Inn located at 680 Buford St.

The robbery happened just after 4 p.m. Monday.

The clerk said a man entered the store, pointed a handgun at her and demanded the money from the register. She said the man took the money and ran west on Buford.

As officers were arriving at the store they saw two men coming from the area. The men were detained.  

One man, Artis Brown, 21, of Beaumont, was in possession of a handgun.  The other man is identified as  Jordy Wilson, 23, of Beaumont. 

Detectives and K-9 Officers responded and the K-9 found some evidence. 

Detectives determined that both men were involved in the robbery.

They were arrested for aggravated robbery.  Bond for each man is set at $75,000.
