Two arrested after drugs and a gun were found in Chambers County traffic stop

A spokesperson for the Chambers County Sheriff's Office said deputies made two arrests after they found 11 pounds of marijuana and a Glock 9 mm pistol during a traffic stop.

The traffic stop happened at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 7 on Interstate 10 east of Jenkins Road.

The spokesperson said two men in a rented Nissan truck registered out of Georgia gave conflicting stories and consented to a search of the vehicle. This is when deputies found the gun and the drugs which have an estimated street value of $24,000.00.

The men, identified as Derail Curtis Hudson, 26, and Arliss Oneal Hudson, 27, were arrested and booked into the Chambers County Jail on possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Bond for each man is set at $15,000 on the Marijuana charge and $4,000 on the weapons charge.
