Southeast Texas runners set up memorial for Boston Marathon victims

A makeshift memorial has been set up at Beaumont's Hike and Bike Trail.  It's honoring the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings that took place Monday.

It's located at the entrance off Dishman Road, near the Cris Quinn Memorial Soccer Complex.

One of the co-founders of Beaumont's Gusher Marathon, Amie James, put the memorial together.

It consists of three white roses, symbolizing the three people killed in the Boston tragedy.

It also has a pair of running shoes, symbolizing a ghost runner.

The memorial will be there through the end of the week, and chalk is on site, so that people can go by and leave messages.

A prayer was held at the site Tuesday evening, before about a hundred runners participated in a silent run to honor those killed and injured.
