Sheriff's Office says 'bizarre' kidnapping is drug related

The Orange County Sheriff's Office Wednesday released more details about a kidnapping investigation in which a woman was tied up, had her mouth duct taped and left along an Orangefield roadway.

Deputy Clint Hodgkinson said Sheriff's Office investigators have been busy interviewing the individuals who were at the house where this incident occurred.

Deputy Hodgkinson said the incident started at a house location at 3392 Woodcock Street in Orangefield.  He said it has been determined that the case is drug related.

"While this case may seem "bizarre" and unusual to the general public, Investigators stand firm that this is a drug related incident and strictly confined to the circumstances that took place at that residence, which eventually led to the victim being dropped off on Bessie Heights Road," says a statement issued by the Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Hodgkinson said some of the facts surrounding the case, including the victim's identity, are being withheld to preserve the integrity of the case.
