Renaissance Hospital in Groves closed Friday, but it will not be a permanent closure.
That's according to a security officer at the facility. She said the hospital shut its doors Friday afternoon, and will remain that way for 30 days.
She says the current ownership seems to be preparing to partner with another organization.
12News began receiving calls Friday about the possibility of Renaissance closing. So we contacted Groves City Manager D. Sosa and asked him about the hospital's future.
Sosa told us he was unaware that the hospital would be closing, but he said it is a very important part of the city of Groves. Sosa says it provides 75 to 80 jobs to people in the area.
Renaissance has been operating off and on in Groves for more than 40 years. It was forced to close in early 2012 as a result of mismanagement that led to employees not being paid for several weeks, and other deficiencies.
A new management company, Foundation Surgical Hospital Affiliates of Oklahoma City, took over Renaissance in February of last year.
