Production of "Glee" delayed until August in wake of star's fatal overdose

By Michael Martinez

The producers of "Glee," and Fox Broadcasting Company, will delay the start of production of the TV series until early August in the aftermath of star Cory Monteith's drug-related death, officials said Friday.

Officials weren't providing further details.

Monteith, 31, was found dead this month in his Vancouver, Canada, hotel room as a result of a heroin and alcohol overdose, authorities said.

On "Glee," he played Finn Hudson, a star high school quarterback who became a leader of a glee club despite peer pressure.
