Power outage in Orange area leaves thousands in the dark, some in Jefferson County

Two different power outages in southeast Texas left thousands without power Friday.

In Orange County, at least 10,000 Entergy Texas customers were without electric power Friday morning. Power was knocked out shortly after 9 a.m.

Erika English with Entergy told 12News a 69 KV transmission line tripped which knocked out several sub stations. 

In Jefferson County, a mechanical problem at a substation near Nederland left about 2,500 people without power.

Power to most customers was restored by Noon.
