Port Arthur murder suspect arrested in the Netherlands, YouTube video key in investigation

Port Arthur Police officers held a news conference Wednesday morning following an arrest in the Netherlands of a man detectives believe dumped a woman's body in a Southeast Texas Lake.

Amber Guillory, 26, was discovered floating in the Sabine Lake at the beginning of December last year.  Investigators said Guillory was killed at a motel in Orange County. Her body was then dumped into the lake off Pleasure Island where a fisherman found it.  Police later issued an arrest warrant for David Carl Smith, 37, earlier this month.

Smith was taken into custody Tuesday in the Netherlands. He is being held on immigration violations and the murder warrant.

A police spokesperson at the news conference said Smith will be deported from the Netherlands and Port Arthur Police Officers will serve his Texas warrant once he is back in the country.

Officers said key evidence included a YouTube video posted to an on-line white supremacist group.
