Police say "sketchy" details about a shooting that wounded a teenager

The Beaumont Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a teenager wounded.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting victim around noon Saturday in the 500 block of West Lavaca.  Beaumont EMS transported the teenager to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his hand and knee. He is  listed in good condition.
According to police, the victim and a witness said they were riding in vehicle with an unknown third person in Beaumont's northend. They said that an unknown man approached their vehicle near the intersection of E. Lucas and Dallas and shot the teenager.
The driver of the vehicle then drove the victim and witness to a house in the 500 block of W. Lavaca where they called police.
According to police, driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.
Neither the victim nor the witness could give detailed information or descriptions of the alleged shooter or the person who was driving the car that they were allegedly in at the time of the shooting.
Police say the details are extremely sketchy. Detectives are continuing to determine the facts surrounding this incident.
