Police say Beaumont woman stabbed man with kitchen knife

The Beaumont Police Department is investigating stabbing that happened at an apartment complex located at 6550 Lexington.

Officers were called around 6 a.m. Saturday. A man, 57, was stabbed in the chest. He was transported to Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth in Beaumont in critical condition.

A police spokesperson said the victim had at least two stab wounds from a kitchen knife.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Ebony Living, 31, of Beaumont, and the victim were friends who got into an argument while drinking. They said Living stabbed the victim during the argument.

Officers arrested Living and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was taken to the Jefferson County jail.

The victim's name has not been released.
