Police release name of bicyclist killed after struck by car

Beaumont police have released the name of the bicyclist who died after being hit by a car.

Police say 49-year-old Carol Singleton, of Beaumont, was hit Wednesday afternoon by a car driven by Christy Renee Arceneaux.

Arceneaux was arrested and is being charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

Police say Arcenaux hit Singleton just before 5:00 PM near the intersection of Martin Luther King and Bonham.

Singleton was taken by ambulance to Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth, where she was pronounced dead this morning.
