Police: Pair of burglars arrested

A police spokesperson Friday said two men worked as a team burglarizing cars, now they are both in jail facing charges.

Officers were called to the Fountain Woods Apartments on Delaware Street around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.  The caller said a man, later identified as Donald Land, 22, of Beaumont, was inside her car.  She said another man, later identified as Larry King Jr, 21, also of Beaumont, appeared to be acting as a lookout.  Some of the woman's family members confronted the burglars.

When police arrived they detained the men.  The officers determined that Lane and King prowled vehicles in the rear parking lot.  They found the victim's car unlocked.

A police spokesperson said Lane had property from the victim's car in his pocket when he was confronted.

Both suspects were charged with burglary of a vehicle and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
