Oath of Office Ceremony for new Beaumont Police recruits

BEAUMONT - Chief Singletary with Beaumont Police Department will swear in a new group of Officers Friday, September 9th, at 10:30a.m in the Beaumont Police Department training room during an Oath of Office Ceremony. 
There will be three men that are sworn in during the ceremony. The following men will be sworn in at the Ceremony: 
Joshua Hall is a 23-year-old resident of Beaumont and a recent graduate of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Police Academy. He currently serves in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and most recently served over one year as a Correctional Officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. 
Demond Janise is a 41-year-old resident of Beaumont and previously served ten years as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Corrections. He also served three years as a B.I.S.D. Police Officer. 
Willie Melancon is a 23-year-old resident of Beaumont. He attended Lamar University and recently graduated from the L.I.T. Regional Police Academy. 
After swearing in, the new recruits will spend twenty two weeks in a rigorous field training program. 
Beaumont Police invites the community to come welcome these Officers and their families to the Beaumont Police Department.
