Nursing home activity director arrested for drug delivery

A spokesperson for the Silsbee Police Department confirmed Friday that a 41-year-old Vidor woman was arrested on charges that she sold drugs while working for a local nursing home.

Stacey Rae Moore is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a 2nd-degree felony.

Investigators received information that Moore, who is employed as the Activities Director with the Pine Arbor Nursing Home in Silsbee, was selling prescription medications to others in the parking lot of the nursing home during her workday.

The police spokesperson said that on two separate occasions within the last ten days, investigators allege that Moore sold the prescription drug Adderall to another person. On Thursday, investigators conducted a sting operation and recorded Moore selling drugs while at work in the parking lot of the nursing home.

After the transaction was completed, investigators took Moore into custody.

The spokesperson said that although Moore is employed by the nursing facility, the illegal drugs were brought to work by Moore and are not part of the nursing home's inventory of prescription medication.

The nursing home is not implicated in this incident and the facility's administration has fully cooperated with law enforcement.  The spokesperson said it is apparent that the facility had no knowledge of Moore's criminal activities.

Moore was arraigned and she has been released after posting a $25,000 bond.
