A Port Arthur firefighter told 12News that there are no injuries from a house fire early Tuesday morning.
The fire happened just after 5 a.m. at a home located at 3123 13th Street. The fire started in a detached garage.
"When we arrive the garage was fully involved, we had flames about 50 feet in the air," said Port Arthur Fire Department Battalion Chief Gary Sewell.
The home next to the garage and a neighbor's house were damaged even though flames did not actually touch them.
"Heat travels in waves and there was no actual flame contact (with the house) but it melted some vinyl on one of the houses off to the side and broke out a couple windows on the back of the house directly behind the garage," said Sewell.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
