Stuffed animals, a balloon, flowers and pinwheels have been placed on a yard that just a couple of days ago had bloodstained grass.
Longtime friends of the Hawkins family are hoping the memorial will offer some comfort.
But Cynthia Thomas and Pam Harris know the display is not enough to take away their friend, Jessica Hawkins, is feeling.
Beaumont police say her three oldest children, Darrell, Anthony and Danielle Hawkins, were murdered by their younger brother, 26-year-old Joe Frederick Hawkins.
Both Thomas and Harris have known the Hawkins children since they were very young, Harris said they called her "Aunt Pam", and she could hardly speak Tuesday afternoon because of the tears.
Jessica Hawkins was home while we talked to her friends, but did not want to go on camera, she did give us a statement, her first words on the tragedy.
She said, "I miss my children, they are all gone, they are all gone."
And about the son accused of killing them, she said, "I hate what he did, but I don't hate him. I'm going to be there for him, I'm not going to leave him, he needs help, that wasn't my son."
Hawkins is in the Jefferson County Jail charged with aggravated assault, that charge is for the person who survived the shooting. Hawkins' family says that person is his girlfriend.
His bond is set at $1 million.
Capital murder charges for the deaths of the three siblings are pending.
Family friends say the three will have a combined funeral, but a date has not been set.
