Man robbed victim who gave him a ride to the mall, police say

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Police Department told 12News a man was arrested after he robbed a person who had just given him a ride to the mall.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday officers were called to Central Mall located on Highway 365.  A man told police he had given a man a ride to the mall.  He said the man robbed him when they got to the mall parking lot, then ran away.

After a short search, Officers say they found the robber at 3200 Turtle Creek Drive.  The suspect had some of the stolen items with him.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

A news release issued by the Port Arthur Police Department says no one was injured in the robbery.
