Madonna moves back to directing

By Breeanna Hare

Multi-hyphenate Madonna is putting on her director's hat once again.

The music legend is going to helm an adaptation of Rebecca Walker's first novel, "Adé: A Love Story," according to Deadline.

Walker -- who's the daughter of acclaimed writer Alice Walker -- drew from her own background to inform this story. "Adé" follows a young college student who falls in love with a man named Ade, and plans to make a simple life with him in Kenya when a series of tumultuous events threatens to tear their relationship apart.

There isn't a screenwriter yet for the project, but it does have a producer in Bruce Cohen, who held the same title with lauded films "Silver Linings Playbook," "Milk" and "American Beauty."

"Adé" won't be Madge's directorial debut: the singer/actress has sat in the director's chair with 2008's "Filth and Wisdom" and 2011's "W.E."
