Submitted by: Joy Graham
The Louisiana Bayou Sprinters wowed us at the end of the 2012 race season and fans are anxious to see them in action at Golden Triangle Raceway Park again this Friday, March 15.
Besides the influx of cars from our neighboring state, a couple of long time favorites from Southeast Texas will be competing with the 305 sprints….Johnny Brown Jr. of Orange and Mark Harris of Vidor.
The show will also show case the Gulf Coast Modlite Dwarf Cars. They put on an exciting four race program on the track's opening night, March 1st. Running away with the top feature honors was Willie Veach Jr. of Crosby, Texas..
Topping off this week's program will be five all time favorite GTRP classes: Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks, Hobby Stock, Pure Stock and Jr. Mini Stocks. Hot laps start at 7 P.M. and heat races will begin at 7:45.
This will be the last race night in March. However, we encourage fans to come visit the Golden Triangle Raceway booth at the Southeast Texas State Fair from March 21st to March 31st. On April 5th, we return to high speed action, with a National ASCS Sprint Show. This event, held once a year at the local track, draws in top drivers from every ASCS sanction in their quest for winning points in the national championship standings.
Golden Triangle Raceway Park is located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China,
Texas. Visit the track web site www.gtrpbmt.com or call 409-752-7200 or 409-781-2801 for more information.
