SFC Jonathan Woodard doesn't just visit with teenagers to ask them to join the military. His mission is to help all senior graduates who need assistance before they embark on their next path in life.
Vidor football fans are familiar with SFC Woodard, who is in his 19th year of active duty with the U.S. Army.
He often runs the American flag on to the field as the Pirates run out of the tunnel on Friday nights. His family is proud to be a part of the school district in Vidor, and at the start of the season, head football coach Jeff Mathews asked Woodard to be a part of the team and serve as an inspiration, a voice and most importantly, and extra friend for the players on the team.
