Two hurt after man opens fire at Port Arthur apartment complex

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur police say two people are recovering from gunshot wounds after a man opened fire at the Avery Trace Apartments early Sunday morning.

Officers were called out to the complex on FM 365 just before 1 a.m. for a call about shots fired.

In the investigation, they learned a man fired several shots into a crowd that had gathered near the parking lot. The two people struck by bullets were taken to the Southeast Texas Medical Center for treatment and were later released with minor injuries. Seven vehicles were also damaged in the shooting.

No arrests have been made at this time. Officers are continuing to investigate the shooting and ask for tips to be called into the police department at: (409) 983-8622.
