BEAUMONT - After months of heavy commute near Eastex Freeway in Beaumont, things are about to change for drivers especially since holiday shopping is about to kick off.
The third lane of the northbound frontage road in front of the Target Shopping center will open for drivers.
"Its been really hard getting to and from work because the lanes have been closed." said Jonah Turner.
For 19-year-old Jonah Turner, its been a traffic nightmare for months now. His commute is from Port Arthur all the way to Parkdale Mall.
Working in the massive shopping center, Turner knows full-well the changes will impact holiday shoppers in a good way.
"We will probably get more business at our store" Turner said. Drivers will also see a change on the other side of the Target Shopping Center.
The US 69 Southbound entrance ramp before Lucas will be open to commuters. TXDOT will also open the new Lucas exit from US 69 Southbound on Tuesday, November 15th.
