BPD looking for man connected to shooting of 4-year-old.

BEAUMONT - Beaumont police want to question a man after a 4-year-old boy was shot in the arm at 2694 Magnolia Street in Beaumont.

Police on scene told 12News that the boy was playing at a next-door neighbors house when a third-party person visited the house. The man had a gun where the boy could get to it.

The child was taken to the St. E with non-life threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson Thursday said Beaumont detectives are looking for Braindon Keith Murphy,18, of Beaumont, who is wanted for questioning in reference to the shooting. Murphy has two, unrelated, outstanding Jefferson County warrants for possession of marijuana and evading detention with a motor vehicle. Murphy also has a state warrant for absconding from a half-way house while serving probation for sexual assault.

If you have any information about this crime or Murphy’s whereabouts, call Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477). You could be eligible for a cash reward.
