BEAUMONT - Texas Gov. Greg Abbott returned to Beaumont Saturday morning to meet with local leaders to discuss what the city needs to recover and rebuild from Hurricane Harvey.
Abbott launched the Governor's Commission to Rebuild Texas this week to make sure local governments have everything they need to help their victims.
He said the commission wants to waste no time in getting Texans back on their feet.
As thousands of people continue to go through the healing process, Abbott said he wants to quickly give cities what they need to rebuild.
The state departments of public safety, emergency management and transportation were on hand Saturday, along with representatives from FEMA and mayors from surrounding cities.
