Suspects admitting to auto burglary will also face Attempted Capital Murder charges

BEAUMONT - Three suspects have been identified in the attempted burglary of Yorktown lane that took place on July 12. 

Beaumont Police have three suspects in custody for the auto burglary that was captured on video July 12. All three males have admitted to the auto burglary in the 1500 block of Marshall Wood drive.

"We got three really bad people off the street and its a message to our citizens that we are not giving up on Beaumont." said Chief Jim Singletary. 

Detectives will file Attempted Capital Murder charges for the shooting that took place during an attempted burglary in the 400 block of Yorktown lane on Wednesday, July 12.

Dustin Jermaine Bernard, 21 of Beaumont has identified as the adult male suspect. Dustin was on probation for theft by possession and his probation was revoked once he was identified in the video, according to police.

"The common factor is that these kids, young kids are violent and they have no regard for human life." Singletary said on Wednesday. 

Bernard was arrested on multiple charges including motion to revoke probation warrant, burglary of a vehicle and forgery. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
