BEAUMONT - “Stop the Violence” is the message Geary Seniguar is hoping to spread throughout the Beaumont community after learning that another life was taken by violence over the weekend.
Seniguar is even more motivated to changing that. “Death is real. It’s the last stop. There’s no coming back from death.” He said.
Seniguar along with dozens of others hosted a rally earlier this month in an effort to combat all the deadly crime in Beaumont.
According to police, 11 homicides have occurred so far this year.
“We should step in and like just take the guns out of their hands. We should replace something in their hands something creative and productive.” Said Seniguar.
100 signs are being made with the “Stop the Violence” message this week and will be distributed during another unity rally next weekend.
The idea of yard signs came a friend who posted on his Facebook page. “We have to start putting positive imagery around the city. Positive things because words are spirit. When you see those words, you’re going to do two things, either verbalize it or eternalize it.”
Seniguar wants to see the signs pop up in all Beaumont neighborhoods.
A rally is set for Saturday, July 29th on Washington and MLK more information can be found on their Facebook page called: Stop The Violence- Beaumont, TX.
