Stark Foundation offering free admission to Shangri La and Museum

ORANGE - All visitors for Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, and the Stark Museum of Art will be admitted free of charge indefinitely.

“Free admission will offer a more widespread positive impact for visitors by removing the financial barriers to daily visitation” stated the release.

The decision was made in order to continue program growth, achieve mission fulfillment and offer additional opportunities to enjoy the venues according to the release.

“This plan includes a streamlining of operations which will result in efficiencies to place the foundation in a better position to focus on our core mission of education” stated President and Chief Executive Officer of the Stark Foundation Clyde V. McKee III.

Hours and operation for the Museum and Gardens are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Tours at the Gardens are offered with seasonal hours if the weather permits.

The W.H Stark House is closed at this time in order for staff to restructure tours and other amenities. The House will open back up in 2018 and will provide educational programs.
