Seven people seriously injured after crash in Port Arthur on Highway 365

Seven people were transported by helicopter to hospitals after a serious crash in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR - First responders are on the scene of major wreck on Hwy 365 near the medical center.

Three medical helicopters were used to assist patients from the scene. A total of five patients were treated, some of whom were taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Port Arthur police tell us at least one of the victims had life-threatening injuries.

A witness on the scene says a Criminal Investigations Department from the Port Arthur Police was on scene.

UPDATE: Port Arthur Police Department says that seven people were seriously injured in the crash.

A family of two adults and four children were waiting in the center turn lane to turn left into the Park Central Apartments. That's when an elderly individual veered into the lane and struck the vehicle.

The family was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.

All of the crash victims suffered serious injuries.
