Port Arthur police search for suspect in overnight shooting

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur police are looking for a gunman following a shooting at a restaurant Friday night.

Officers say they were called out to Wellborn's on Proctor Street just before midnight to investigate a shooting. They found a gun, shell casings and empty cartridges at the scene. 

About 45 minutes later, police say a shooting victim showed up at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas Emergency room. The man, 24 from Port Arthur, had a gunshot wound to his back.

The victim is in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

Officers are still investigating the shooting.
