Orange man killed in Friday night shooting identified

ORANGE - A 46 year-old Orange man is dead after being shot in the head during a disturbance at a home in Orange.

Marvin Cordell Cooper, Jr. was pronounced dead at about 11:20 p.m. at Christus St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Orange Police were dispatched to a home at 2609 Eighth Street on Friday evening at about 8:15 p.m. in reference to a disturbance and a shooting according to a release from the Orange Police Department.

When officers arrived at the home they found Cooper with a gun shot wound to his head.

Cooper was taken to a local emergency room in serious condition and then transferred to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate the case.
