Nine injured in Tyler County crash

An update has been given by DPS troopers about the injured victims in the two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon. Two of the nine victims remain in the hospital due to their injuries.

TYLER COUNTY - An update has been given by DPS troopers about the injured victims in the two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon. 

Two of the nine victims remain in the hospital due to their injuries. Renee Cameron is still hospitalized at St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. Cameron's 8-month-old daughter has since been released from the hospital. 

All of the children in the Ford Explorer received minor injuries in the crash and have been released from area hospitals. 

The wife of Juan Rodriguez remains in the ICU at Hermann Memorial hospital. 

The crash is still under investigation. However, DPS will not be releasing any more medical updates on the victims.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a crash Saturday afternoon in Tyler County.

Troopers say nine people were injured in the collision.

At around 12:45p.m. two vehicles collided on FM 92 near CR 4925 in Fred, Texas.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Honda passenger van was driving northbound on FM 92 when the driver tried to make a u-turn.

A Ford Explorer driving behind the Honda struck the driver-side door of the van.

The driver of the van, 30-year-old Renee Cameron of Colmesneil, was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. 

Her 8-month-old daughter was taken by ambulance to Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth hospital. 

The child was secured in a car seat and did not appear to have any visible injuries. 

The driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Juan Rodriguez of Silsbee, was not injured. 

The front passenger, the wife of Rodriguez, was flown by medical helicopter to Hermann Memorial hospital in Houston with serious injuries. 

A minor child was flown to Texas Children's hospital in Houston with serious injuries. 

Two other minor children were transported to Jasper Memorial hospital with minor injuries. 

The final three children were taken to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.
