Nick's Grocery closing down, remains open until inventory is sold

PORT ARTHUR - Nick’s Grocery, located at the 3100 block of 39th street in Port Arthur is officially closing its doors forever.

The store was started on September 27, 1959 according to the Nick’s Grocery Facebook page. Nick and Dorothy Dicotre opened the store in 1959 and the grocery is still owned by the Nicotre and Plagman families.

The Facebook post stated “After 58 years of striving to please all our customers, with heavy hearts, it is now time for us to close the doors forever”.

The going out of business sale begins Wednesday the 21st and they will remain open until the entire inventory is gone.

 

“It has been our pleasure to serve all of you as our customers. We appreciate the loyalty of both our customers and employees that we have had the pleasure of working with throughout the years” states the post.

The post ended by stating “Goodbye, and God Bless.”
