Nederland private investigator files request for Kirbyville superintendent's records from Bryan ISD

BRYAN - A Nederland private investigator is looking into the Kirbyville Consolidated Independent School District superintendent.

The investigator has filed an open records request with the Bryan Independent School District seeking Dr. Thomas Wallis' employment application and personnel file according to the Bryan ISD.

Recently some Kirbyville residents have questioned Wallis' handling of the resignation of Kirbyville high School principal Dennis Reeves.

Reeves committed suicide in the parking lot of the high school immediately after turning in his resignation to Wallis on May 30, 2017.

In January 2017 Dr. Wallis obtained a court order to block the release of documents related to his departure from his previous job at the Bryan ISD according to reports from The Eagle.

The request for the records was made by The Eagle following Wallis abrupt departure from the district.

The Eagle reported that Wallis resigned from the Bryan ISD on September 30, 2016.
